Where To See Fireworks Canada Day Weekend in Toronto

Wondering where you can see a big fireworks display in Toronto this Canada Day long weekend (July 1, 2011)? We have a list of a few places often known to fire off some fireworks for special occasions.

Mel Lastman Square – The evening starts at 8pm with musical performances by Canadian bands, and concludes around 10pm with stunning fireworks choreographed to music.

Ontario Place – Ontario Place did not host fireworks for Victoria Day this year; they will be back with breathtaking fireworks by the lake on Canada Day.

The Beaches – Ashbridge’s Bay is known to host fireworks festivities every year for Victoria Day and Canada Day long weekends.

Canada’s Wonderland hosts a show with music and fireworks bursting over Wonder Mountain, included with park admission.

Niagara Falls and Niagara Parks are stage to free concerts and fireworks, every Friday, Sunday and holiday, from May to September. Although not immediately in Toronto, the falls are not far from Toronto and provide a beautiful illuminated setting for fireworks.

Fireworks at Milliken Park

Join for a dazzling display of fireworks at Milliken Park. Please note that City by-laws prohibit the public from setting off fireworks in the park. For more information contact 416-396-7757. Admission is free.

Fireworks at Stan Wadlow Park

Fireworks display at 10:15 p.m. Park closes at 11 p.m. Admission is free. Hosted by Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation.

Time: 10:15 to 11 p.m.

Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay Park

A spectacular fireworks display at 9:45 p.m in Ashbridges Bay Park. The public is strongly urged to use public transit and leave personal vehicles at home. Please note that City by-laws prohibit the public from setting off fireworks in the park. Admission is free. Hosted by Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation.

Canada Day Celebrations at Weston Lions Park

Festivities include live entertainment, children’s activities and fireworks at 10 p.m. For more information contact your local Councillor Frances Nunziata at 416-392-4091.
Location: Weston Lions Park
Time: 5 to 10 p.m.

Note: Downsview Park will not be hosting their regular Canada Day events and fireworks in 2011. Instead, 102.1 The Edge presents The Tragically Hip Concert at Downsview Park.
